Soil, Compost, & Dirt: How to Grow a Healthy Garden
This week we will start from the ground up, literally! It’s Soil Week. Over the week, the kids will have all their questions about soil answered. What is it? What is it made out of? What makes soil healthy? All these and more, while learning organic growing methods such as the importance of composting, soil turn over and using nature to help, not hurt your harvest.
From Seed to Sprout: Life Cycles of Flowers
Flowers are beautiful, but where do they start? This week we are going to learn all about the life cycle of a flower. We will learn what a seed needs to grow, the variation of flowers, how to grow a garden, what tools to use, and more! Campers will be able to take their sprouts home with them at the end of the week.
Animal Week: Meet the Friends of the Farm
Goats, Pigs, Chickens, and a Donkey, oh my! We will be learning all about farm animals this week: what they eat, where they live, and their role on the farm. Curriculum also includes learning about the life cycles of chickens, milking goats, and hands-on touch and play with our furry friends.
Worms, Bees and Butterflies!
Learn about all the bugs that help out on the farm! Each bug has its role to play. The worms aerate and fertilize the soil, the ladybugs protect the plants, and the bees pollinate the flowers. We will learn about the life cycles of butterflies, how to invite the “good” bugs in to help the flowers grow, the process of bees making honey, and more!
Produce Week: The Fruits and Vegetables we Grow and Eat
Learn about all the food we locally grow and sell. From planting seedlings in our greenhouse to transferring sprouts to our fields, we'll finish the week stocking the produce bins at our farm stand. The kids will get an all-encompassing view of what goes into growing the food that ends up on our tables!
